AJ-Katz

2022 – 2023 TRANSLATIONAL FELLOWS

Alex Katz, MD, MS

AJ Katz is a pediatric critical care medicine fellow at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. He has a strong interest in integrating new technology to advance the medical decision making and care of critically ill children. AJ’s prior research has involved 3D modeling of pediatric congenital heart disease, surgical outcomes of valve replacements, and examining the intensive care management of adults with congenital heart disease. Throughout his medical training, he has continued to provide mentorship to medical students and undergraduate students interested in healthcare. AJ is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. He earned an MD from the Keck School of Medicine at USC with a certificate in Health, Technology, and Engineering. He received an MS and BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
