TJ Florence is a neurosurgery resident at DGSOM UCLA and current HH Lee Surgical Research Scholar investigating mechanisms for compensatory circuit plasticity in degenerative spine disease. TJ earned MD and PhD degrees from Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction. He received a B.A. in Neurobiology from the University of Southern California. Additional interests include improving precision & accuracy in neuronavigational systems, optimizing early intervention in traumatic spinal cord injury, and the development of novel neurosurgical approaches.
