Dieter Rutzen is a former R&D project leader at MicroVention, a neurovascular company. During his six years, Dieter participated in multiple divisions of the company, including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing. He was a key resource and led projects for Class II accessory device and Class III stents through their project lifecycle. This included phases from initial Voice of Customer with marketing, through design feasibility and verification and validation, process validation, to regulatory submission. He worked with an in-house development team and third-party consultants to achieve 510(k) clearance and PMA approval for his devices. Prior to MicroVention, Dieter worked at Stanford’s Office of Medical Education as a Curriculum Development Assistant. He has a BS and MS in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
