Justin Barad, MD
Dr. Justin Barad is a physician, entrepreneur and innovator in the field of medicine and virtual reality. As the founder and CEO of Osso VR, Dr. Barad is leading the modernization of surgical training with immersive learning experiences that bridge the gap between theory and practice. Motivated by the pressing need for surgical innovation during his residency at UCLA, he was inspired to give surgeons safer, more effective tools to enhance performance and outcomes. Today, Osso VR is globally recognized for its cutting-edge artistry and lifelike experiences, earning prestigious accolades such as Time Magazine’s Top 100 Inventions, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Company in Healthcare, and the SXSW Innovation Award for VR. Dr. Barad holds a Bioengineering degree from UC Berkeley and received his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed his residency in orthopedics at UCLA and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital. With a relentless commitment to clinical care, he continues to practice as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at the Orthopaedic Institute for Children in Santa Monica.
