What is it?

The UCLA Biodesign AI Fellowship is open to current students enrolled in the UCLA Data Science in Biomedicine MS program. 

The UCLA Biodesign AI Fellowship is an exciting year-long entrepreneurial opportunity at a world-class health organization.  UCLA Biodesign utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to assemble a team of fellows that tackle some of today’s most challenging clinical needs.  

UCLA Biodesign AI invites engineering, medicine, nursing, design, and computer science professionals to join us in our mission to transform healthcare. This AI Fellowship is where we blend cutting-edge data science with a hands-on, year-long entrepreneurial journey at UCLA Health. UCLA Biodesign AI combines rigorous training in foundational data science at the intersection between AI applications in healthcare and software engineering.

In this program you’ll be tackling real clinical challenges with advanced algorithms and innovation. Biodesign AI Fellows will benefit from this unique collaboration between UCLA Department of Computational Medicine, the UCLA Health Office of Health Informatics and Analytics (OHIA), and the UCLA Biodesign Program which comes together to create an environment unlike any other. 

Taking a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach this program guides Fellows from opportunity identification through solution implementation and everything in between. Biodesign AI Fellows have the opportunity to leverage clinical and data resources at UCLA Health through clinical immersion across specialties. Fellows receive curated instruction during an intensive bootcamp and mentorship throughout the program from industry professionals with domain expertise across the healthcare ecosystem.
