Obi Emeruwa, MD, MBA

Iheanacho Obinnaya Emeruwa is a recognized Forbes Future Healthcare Leader and board-certified clinician in internal medicine.  Currently, Obi is a clinical fellow in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.  He has spent his early clinical training championing medical education and quality improvement, the capstone of which was developing and teaching a medical school course designed to showcase the potential for early clinicians to improve healthcare.  For his efforts as an advocate for minority advancement in medicine during these years, he was awarded the Kenneth A. Forde Diversity Alliance Resident Diversity Award. As a Specialty Training and Advanced Research Fellow at UCLA, Obi is pursuing a PhD in health policy and management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and is interested in identifying large-scale opportunities for implementing quality-changing technologies and workflows.  Obi completed his MD at Columbia University and his internal medicine residency and chief residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center.  Obi is an MBA graduate of Columbia Business School, where he was recognized as a Botwinick Scholar and holds a BS in biomedical sciences and engineering from Harvard University.
