With Global Chief Medical Officer Dr. Atul Gupta at Philips Image Guided Therapy
Thursday, 1/27/2022, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM PT

About the Speaker:
Atul Gupta, MD is global Chief Medical Officer and member of the management team for Image Guided Therapy (IGT) at Philips. He is responsible for our clinical strategy and is a key voice to our product roadmap and vision, supporting IGT systems, IGT devices and EPD Solutions – the three businesses of IGT. As an actively practicing interventional and diagnostic radiologist with over 20 years clinical experience, he serves as the key external clinical voice of Philips IGT. He also sits on the leadership team of our Royal Philips Chief Medical Office.

Dr. Gupta’s key responsibilities include supporting innovation and new product development in radiology, cardiology, vascular, surgical, neuro and oncology interventions. He also supports Philips’ efforts in clinical education, new business development, office-based labs and managed services, and medical affairs. He also collaborates across various businesses of Philips as well as with other companies, to seamlessly integrate technologies to advance minimally invasive procedures and outcomes.

Prior to joining Philips, Dr. Gupta served on the International Medical Advisory Board of Philips for over 10 years, assisting in development of our 3D guidance and navigation systems. In April 2016, he transitioned from a full time clinical practice to officially joining IGT. While now working for Philips, he still maintains a clinical practice, performing interventional radiology several days per month in suburban Philadelphia.

Dr. Gupta has been repeatedly recognized in media as a top physician in his specialty, is a reviewer for several medical journals, and has published and lectured internationally on augmented reality, dose reduction and 3D Live Image Guidance for interventional procedures including uterine fibroid embolization and IVC filter retrieval. He went to medical school in New York and completed his post graduate training in Philadelphia at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
