Dr. Steven Dubinett is Director of the of California Translational Science Institute and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research at UCLA. A leader in translational oncology research, he is the Director of the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center Lung Cancer Research Program and has extensive experience in translational investigation, academic administration, mentorship and peer review. Dr. Dubinett is the Chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and jointly appointed as Professor in the Departments of Medicine, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Molecular and Medical Pharmacology. In addition to serving on national advisory panels and committees, including the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Translational Research Working Group, he has experience directing large, multidisciplinary research teams funded by the NCI Specialized Programs of Research Excellence, the Early Detection Research Network, and the Department of Defense. Dr. Dubinett has been consistently funded by peer-reviewed federal resources for translational research in lung cancer for more than 20 years and has served as a permanent member of three different NIH study sections and numerous Special Emphasis Panels. He has also served as a member of the FDA Cellular, Tissue and Gene Therapies Advisory Committee and on several editorial boards, including Clinical and Translational Science. Dr. Dubinett is an Associate Editor in Chief of the American Journal of Translational Research.
