ADVISORY BOARD

Manish Butte, MD, PhD

Dr. Manish Butte is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and holds the E. Richard Stiehm Endowed Chair of the Division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology.  As Division Chief, Dr. Butte leads the effort to care for children and adults with primary immunodeficiencies and genetic immune disorders.  This includes patients with severe, recurrent or opportunistic infections, and/or unusual susceptibility and auto-inflammation.  He develops technologies in the areas of low cost diagnostics, food allergy diagnostics, and microscopy.  An inventor on six issued patents, Dr. Butte is the co-founder of multiple startup companies:  Microvolution, a software company that accelerates scientific research employing microscopes; Regencor, developing treatments for cardiac regeneration; and Allertope, improving the diagnosis and treatment of food allergies.   He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and medical degree from Brown University and received his PhD in Biophysics from the University of California San Francisco.  Dr. Butte completed his pediatric residency training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a clinical fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Boston Children’s Hospital.   Dr. Butte is board certified in both Pediatrics and Allergy & Immunology.
