2021 – 2022 ACCELERATOR FELLOW

Gabe Oland, MD

Gabe Oland is currently training as a resident physician within the Department of General Surgery at UCLA. He has a strong interest in the surgical care of critically ill patients and advanced life support techniques like extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and organ transplant.  Gabe’s previous research interests range from using functional MRI to map the motor cortex in the brain to designing virtual surgery software to improve outcomes in patients undergoing nasal airway surgeries.  He earned his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. Prior to his medical training, Gabe completed a BS in Biomedical Engineering at Arizona State University, where he was awarded the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award, as well as Idea of the Year Award.
