ACCELERATOR FELLOW

Farnaz Haji, DO

Farnaz Haji became the first UCLA Breast Surgery Fellow in 2020. She is an advocate for equitable women’s health nationally and internationally and is passionate about ensuring women receive the most up-to-date care for diseases of the breast. Prior to starting a medical career, she worked as a researcher and teacher in the Middle East to advocate for women’s healthcare and education. Combining her passion for women’s health and surgery, Farnaz pursued a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship. Her clinical and research interests include benign and malignant breast diseases and tailoring surgical treatments for patients with breast cancer. She is passionate about comprehensive wellness in women’s cancer care and has a special interest in oncofertility and sexual health in patients with breast cancer.  Farnaz Haji became a board-certified general surgeon after completing her General Surgery Residency in Miami, Florida. Her mission is to provide personalized, evidence based surgical breast cancer care to her patients and to help them navigate their cancer treatment to optimize their cancer outcome and survivorship. Her teaching background allows her to support the emotional and educational needs of her patients and their families and to guide them to additional support services as required. Farnaz received her BS from the University of Colorado and an MS from Colorado State University. She completed her MD from Midwestern University, Arizona.
